World jump day is a collaborative attempt to get 600 million people to jump at the same time. Why you ask? They believe that it would drive the planet into a new orbit. Is that good? Who's to say, but they think so. They say it's "very likely to stop global warming, extend daytime hours, and create a more homogeneous climate".
At the time of this post, it's 64 weeks out, and they already have 121 million jumpers. You can sign up now and get a reminder before it's time to jump.
Happy jumping! |

A Cambridge University study concluded that it doesn't matter what order the letters in a word are arranged. The important thing is that the first and last letter are in the right place. The rest doesn't matter. This is because the human mind does not read every letter by itself, but the word as a whole.
Wonder if that's how the word spell-checker works. :)

A body is thrown from the top of a frictionless inclined plane of angle x and height h. What time will his train arrive in Chicago if he left Boston at 2:30 PM? Ok, that question isn't real, but some of them they come up with are pretty interesting...for example, where do they get these bodies and why are they throwing them away? This book is a good reference for anyone interested in physics. It starts with a little theory and then covers a variety of problems with solutions (120 of them). The subtitle is "For Olympiads and Contests". If you're an olympiad or a contestant, this book's for you. If not, maybe you can work up to being one! |

Ok, maybe that's a bit dramatic, but this is pretty interesting. We bought our son a squishy little soccer ball pillow. When he turned out the light in his room we noticed something very cool happening. If you squeezed the thing, it created quite a light show inside from static electricity.
