devtoys.com is Stuff for geeks
Hi, I'm Tom Colley. I started devtoys as an outlet for my geekiness. I'm
a sr. software developer with the bulk of my experience in commercial software
development. I like "tinkering" with things...be it electronics, woodworking,
programming, or whatever really. Music has always been a big part of my life,
listening and playing. I grew up like most of today's "geeks" playing arcade
and console games and absorbed by TV and junk food. I also spent a lot of time
trying to learn to play guitar, and screwing around on a Tandy TRS 80. Some of
that time was spent outdoors doing things like hunting, fishing, riding
bicycles and dirt bikes, so that retracted a little from my geekdom, but it
helped to create who I am.
I also picked up a lot of handy-man talents from my dad over the years. All of
those influences has evolved into a multi-faceted passion for DIY, electronics,
games, and any other cool stuff. I'm sure there are other people like me that
would find this stuff interesting (I've met a few), so I thought I'd compile
the kind information I find useful and see who else comes to visit.
Currently, the site is done in my spare time and completely self-funded. If
you'd like to support the site, please visit the displayed sponsers, or use the
displayed links when purchasing any of the items you've found on this site.
If you like what you see, or would like to see something else...please
let me know. I'd love to hear from fellow geeks.
