This is a pretty basic tip, but if you don't know it, it's VERY handy. In Internet Explorer, type in the domain name on the address bar, without the www. or .com. If you then press Ctrl + Enter instead of just Enter (or clicking the Go button), IE will automatically add the www. and .com. Those nanoseconds you save with this tip will surely add several minutes to your life. What will you ever do with that kind of time. |

| Johnny Chung Lee, has some cool projects based on the Wiimote controller. He uses the infrared ability of the Wiimote to track IR leds. Using some custom software he's written (also available), he creates a digital whiteboard application. The Wiimote can track 4 infrared sources, so there are some cool multitouch possibilities. He even helps you build your own IR enabled pen. Check it out. Visit his site for more info and software |

A friend pointed this out to me. Pretty darn humorous. The site is Japanese, so good luck beyond the entry page.
Too bad the regular old cursor didn't look like that...or maybe that's a good thing. :)

So I have been a little busy lately and haven't done much with my site for a while. That's a lame excuse I know. As I've mentioned, I do this in my spare time. I have had on my list for a while a rewrite for the site, and I'm working on it....slowly.
Why am I rambling on needlessly you ask? Well, I also don't have time to moderate the currently open spammy/immature/useless comments. Until I can rewrite the site and properly provide things like authentication or other comment spam protection, I've disabled the comments and ratings. They have provided little value to the content so far and certainly have been more trouble than they're worth.
I always welcome any constructive feedback or ideas.
And for fun....this is a huge BIOS screen (via digg)

For just pennies a day, you too can provide sweet reverb to many tone-starving rockers out there. :)
Basically you take one of those echo microphone toys for kids and wire it up for your own amusement. Quick, easy project. |

| This is a great collection of arcade game sounds recorded back in the day. There are fourteen tapes with lots of game sounds on each tape. Listen to them all. I triple dog dare you! |

This is a search engine built around sound files found on the web. It's pretty cool. Of course the content may be copyrighted, so what you do with those sounds, you do at your own risk.
You can specify various properties of the sound such as file type, sample rate, size, etc. They have a piece of software to augment the task as well.
If only they would let you search by copyright status too. |
